Forgot windows password is a common thing now. What should you do when facing the problem? Well, here I give you a guide of using Ophcrack Live CD to recover your windows forgot password.
Ophcrack is a free Windows password cracker based on rainbow tables. It is a very efficient implementation of rainbow tables done by the inventors of the method. It comes with a Graphical User Interface and runs on multiple platforms. The Ophcrack Live CD is a pretty useful tool
How could you do that?
The first step you’ll need to take is to visit Ophcrack’s website and download ophcrack LiveCD button on any other computer you can access to but remember not your locked PC. If you’ve forgotten the password on a Windows 7 or Windows Vista computer, click on ophcrack Vista LiveCD. If you’ve forgotten the password on a Windows XP computer, click on ophcrack XP LiveCD.
After downloading the Ophcrack LiveCD software, you’ll need to burn the ISO file to a CD. After burning the Ophcrack LiveCD ISO file to a CD, go to the computer that you can’t get in to and insert the CD. Make sure your computer boot us with CD, if not sure, you can restart windows and press F2 to Bios setup, and move to the boot tap, change the CD-ROM to the first, press F10 to save changes and restart Windows again.
After the initial startup of your computer is complete, the Ophcrack LiveCD menu should display, then it will automatically recover windows password in just a few seconds.
